Heat Index
Heat Index is a horn driven, contemporary jazz-fusion group that offers a funky R&B showcase when the performance requires it. The band combines fresh original music with extraordinary fusion remakes, resulting in their wide audience appeal. As Wayne Henderson, the funky trombone playing leader of the Jazz Crusaders once said, “Just because it’s jazz, don’t mean you can’t dance”. Our music reflects that statement.

Vol. 1
Breezy and Easy
This is a collection of songs that crosses a broad spectrum of jazz genre’s, with all of them reflecting melodic and rhythmic theme’s that touch the heart. From a New Orleans “second line” feel to some latin bossa nova’s, the music is memorable.
Vol. 2
Grooves and Blues
As the name suggests, this collection of songs reflects a range of groovin’ blues. From the driving Trouble (No. 2), to the soulful Life in the City, and on to the down and dirty Hand in Hand with the Blues, you’ll find lots to enjoy.
This collection is straight out of the best known songs in the genre, and will have you swaying to the sound from the beginning to the end. The iconic What’s Going On? leads it off, and various songs from the “great American song book” follow, with some R&B classics mixed throughout.
